Hatchet 3 (2013) is the third film of horror in the Hatchet Series. It is a follow-up to Victor Crowley's murderous rampage through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley and Brian Quinn is Deputy Winslow. Rileah Vanderbilt plays Misty.



Its practical special effects are the film's greatest strengths. Hatchet 3 uses a lot less CG effects than other horror films. This allows some truly frightening moments to be recorded in the movie.

The cast delivers a strong performance, with Kane Hodder being the most terrifying villain. The dialogue is sufficiently campy and witty to be (click now to see video) reminiscent of a classic 1980s slasher film at moments. Additionally, there are some really funny moments throughout that offer humor against the horror-inducing action.

Due to the budget being small (1 million dollars) most locations were duplicates from previous films. Hatchet 2's boat house was only used once and the rest of the footage feels like it was duplicated from previous films. It can feel almost familiar to those who've watched Hatchet or Hatchet 2.

Overall, Hatchet 3 was a good series overall. There was many gory moments, and there were some great performances from the cast.
